The Balthazar Fry family, the first winegrowing family, established itself in Bergheim in 1748. Now, the seventh generation keeps the traditions alive, combining them with a contemporary philosophy and approach. They consistently strive for a balance between acidity, sweetness, and alcohol, with an emphasis on elegance. Quality is paramount and is therefore the goal. Environmental protection also plays a major role in viticulture, as only a living soil can convey the character of the terroir to the vine, so the idea goes. The winery owns a total of 33 hectares of vineyards, which have been certified organic since 2012. Nowhere else does Pinot Gris express itself as richly and completely as in Alsace.
