The Bardos winery is owned by the renowned Vintae winery, which also produces the renowned Matsu wine, among other wines. This family-owned winery knows how to impress us with its wines like no other. However, the family had long dreamed of producing a pristine Verdejo, a grape variety deeply associated with Spain. They found their perfect match in an old vineyard they were able to acquire in Rueda. Here, the vines filled with Verdejo grapes grow on a mountainside no less than 800 meters above sea level. The enormous cooling effect of the sea breeze and the falling nighttime temperatures provide the harvest with the perfect cooling during the warm Spanish summer days.
Completely hand-harvested for this Bardos Verdejo Rueda
When the harvest is finally ripe after many hours of work in the vineyards, all the bunches are harvested by hand. Unusable bunches are removed during harvesting to ensure exceptionally pure wine. Harvesting is also limited to 6:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. This keeps the harvest fresh and minimizes bruising during transport. The bunches are pressed and matured for a long time on the lees. This period lasts a full 60 days, making this Verdejo fuller and more powerful. This is clearly evident in the aroma and flavor of this white wine.
Full and very powerful this Bardos Verdejo Rueda
We open the bottle, and our entire tasting room is already filled with the aromas of this fantastic white wine. We immediately notice aromas of pineapple and passion fruit. Upon pouring, we notice a clear color with a green shimmer. Very inviting, just like the aroma of this wine. Delicious aromas of peach and melon, but also passion fruit and citrus predominate. The palate is refined and fresh, with a beautiful bouquet of white and citrus fruit. On the palate, nuances of apple and lime, along with a touch of green herbs, are present. It's simply a joy to drink, and this wine will never tire of itself.
