The Ricasoli family made a significant contribution to Italian history, particularly through their development of viticulture in the Chianti region. It's no wonder they're considered the oldest winemaking family in the world. The current owner, Francesco Ricasoli, Bettino's great-grandson and 32nd Baron, has been at the helm since 1993. He immediately adopted a firm approach, with a single goal in mind: absolute quality. He therefore enlisted the expertise and experience of renowned oenologist Carlo Ferrini. The vineyards were replanted, resulting in higher quality. The Riserva is the middle of the three quality levels defined by the Consorzio del Vino Chianti Classico. Before it can be sold, the Riserva must age for at least 24 months, including at least three months in the bottle.

The Brolio Riserva Chianti Classico grapes grow at an altitude of 260 to 500 meters. Characteristic are the various soil types: sandstone, slate, marine sediments, and chalk marl. These rock compositions give the wine its harmonious character. The grape varieties are 80 percent Sangiovese, 15 percent Merlot, and 5 percent Cabernet Sauvignon. The Brolio Riserva Chianti Classico has a ruby ​​red color. A beautiful aroma of coffee grounds, mocha, and spices, along with abundant black fruit.
