Description
This Vin Santo is made from Malvasia grapes, which are harvested very late to maximize their sugar content. This gives this Castello Brolio Vin Santo from the Barone Ricasoli winery its ultimate character! A truly ultimate dessert wine, with a beautiful, thick structure and plenty of powerful notes.
The quality wines of Barone Ricasoli
In 1141, Brolio Castle came into the hands of the Ricasoli family, whose descendant, Baron Bettino Ricasoli, developed the formula for their famous Chianti in 1872. Today, it is the largest winery in the Chianti Classico area. It is surrounded by 1,200 hectares of valleys, hills, forests, and trees—the ideal environment for quality wines. Francesco Ricasoli, Bettino's great-grandson and 32nd Baron, has been at the helm of the family business since 1993, renewing the quality and personality that made Brolio wines famous by capitalizing on the land's unique history. With many award-winning wines renowned worldwide, Barone Ricasoli's research and exploration continues today. Barone Ricasoli makes a unique Vin Santo made primarily from white Malvasia grapes. The grapes are dried on wooden racks, then pressed and fermented in oak barrels. After fermentation, the wine is slowly aged in barriques for at least five years. This results in a sweet wine with unusual complexity and depth.Enjoy the inviting Vin Santo
The Castello di Brolio Vin Santo Chianti Classico DOC is a traditional wine made from a very old grape variety, Malvasia del Chianti. The grapes are 90 percent Malvasia, 5 percent Trebbiano, and 5 percent Sangiovese. The wine has a strong yellow-amber color. The aroma is a true Vin Santo, with aromas of raisins, nuts, honey, almonds, and a touch of coffee and caramel. Very inviting and exceptionally well-balanced! This Castello Brolio Vin Santo has a smooth taste with beautiful, powerful nuances of nuts, coffee grounds, caramel, toffee, and a touch of honey. But this beautiful dessert wine is unparalleled!Product details
