2020 was an excellent vintage for Tuscany, rated 93 points by Robert Parker. The conditions were very favorable, resulting in wines with good structure and expressive fruitiness.

This Castello di Brolio is undoubtedly one of Barone Ricasoli's most powerful wines. A Sangiovese vineyard is specially created for this wine, a unique part of Italy that Ricasoli pays close attention to. And you can definitely taste and smell it! Impressive, with plenty of suppleness and power.

A selection of the very best Sangiovese grapes

Castello di Brolio is made from a meticulous selection of the finest Sangiovese and Abrusco grapes from the estate's vineyards, spread across 240 hectares. Production from each vintage can therefore vary in quantity, but the quality is always excellent. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of 400 to 500 meters above sea level, facing south/southwest. The perfect exposure and excellent altitude of the land, as well as the very stony soil, are responsible for the typical character of this wine. The selected grapes are carefully separated, mashed, and fermented. Their superior quality gives them a truly unique aroma. Only grapes from the best vintages are used for this wine. They give it an unforgettable flavor. This wine is truly iconic. Its distinctive character comes from the increasing concentration and structure of the tannins. The grapes are harvested late, around late September or early October, when they are perfectly ripe. The subsequent fermentation lasts almost three weeks to extract all the aromas and flavors from the skins. This is followed by aging in oak barrels for a year and a half.

The smell and taste of Barone Ricasoli Castello di Brolio

This red wine has an intense aroma, with beautiful notes of black fruit and cedar, a light toasted finish, cherries, and raspberries, along with a touch of sensual spice. It can age for at least 10 years, but we recommend drinking it now. Just make sure to air this Castello di Brolio Barone Ricasoli for about two hours beforehand to release all its beautiful flavors. The palate is intensely powerful, with plenty of black fruit, spices, vanilla, tobacco, chocolate, and much more! Truly a wine you'll never forget! We promise!
