The old Pinot Noir vineyard
The Bernardus Winery is one of our favorite wineries. This winery is primarily known for its beautiful Chardonnay, but it also produces many other gems. Bernardus was founded by Ben Pon, who previously made a name for himself by importing prestigious car brands. Ben, a bon vivant, wanted to establish his own winery and focus on premium wines. And he succeeded. Every single one of their wines is a gem, including this magnificent Bernardus Pinot Noir.
What does Bernardus Pinot Noir taste like?
This Pinot Noir Bernardus is best served at around 14 to 15 degrees Celsius. This allows all its aromas and flavors to fully develop. Upon pouring, the Pinot Noir's characteristic bright purple color is immediately apparent. The aroma is a true feast. Pleasant aromas of ripe black cherries, berries, vanilla, and some floral notes. The taste is elegant and classic. Delicious nuances of ripe red and black fruit alternate with vanilla and a touch of spice. The finish is sultry and even refreshing. What a gem!
