Varietal(s) Viognier

Viognier is back. Despite its low yield, it's being planted with great success in more and more locations. It originated in the northern Cotes du Rhone, where it achieved particular success in Condrieu. However, more and more winemakers are discovering this aromatic gem. This is also the case at Bis By Biscaye, where this Viognier has become a flagship. Challenging on the nose, sultry on the palate. Prepare for lush notes of melon, apricot, soft pear, and even a hint of mango. A light touch of vanilla on the finish makes this Bis By Biscaye Viognier a highly successful glass of wine from the Languedoc-Roussillon.

The wines of Bis By Biscaye

This Bis by Biscaye Viognier is created on the estate's own estate in Languedoc-Roussillon, just a stone's throw from the vibrant student city of Montpellier. Currently, it's managed by Emmanuele Biscaye, representing the fifth generation. He enthusiastically leads the Clos L'Armet family winery, which has been in the Biscaye family for over a century. Initially, the focus was solely on grape cultivation. Since Emmanuele Biscaye took the helm, there has been a greater focus on quality, resulting in the first bottling at the estate in 2010.

A Viognier wine from France

The Biscaye family has managed the vineyards for five generations. This has resulted in a unique range of grape varieties planted, varieties not typically found in southern French vineyards. Consider the newcomer Marselan and the powerhouse Syrah. But we're especially charmed by Viognier, the main ingredient in this white wine from Bis By Biscaye. Beautifully planted on the estate's poor granite soils, they produce superb wines.
