Weingut Bischel recently started producing a full-bodied Silvaner wine, and it's not just any old white! The vines are planted in northern Rheinhessen, specifically in the Appenheim region. Experts rave about these vineyards and consider them the rising stars of Rheinhessen. Well, as far as we're concerned, it's a golden star, a wine with exceptional length and unparalleled purity. The Runkel family has been involved in winegrowing in Rheinhessen for five generations. Their experience, excellent vineyards, and the skills of Christian and Matthias Runkel contribute to the quality of their wines. The grapes Matthias and Christian Runkel use for their Silvaner come from a Silvaner vine of approximately thirty years old in the Gau-Algesheimer St. Laurenzikapelle. Tertiary marl and limestone (Terra Fusca) characterize the existing soils of the south-facing vineyards on medium to steep slopes.
