The Canapi winery has a long history and is named after a knot. Specifically, a sailor's knot, which is also depicted on the label, because Canapi literally means "knot" in Sicilian. The sea plays an important role in the wines, providing cooling for the grapes. This is essential, as Sicily can get very hot. The wines are also almost always transported by sea to the end consumer. This is how the name Canapi originated, and it has borne this name for many years. It is a true family business where quality and finesse are paramount. Canapi's vineyards are located in the best locations on the beautiful island of Sicily. Thanks to hard work, the vineyards are now producing a top harvest.

The harvest of the Grillo grapes

This beautiful white wine is made on the warm Italian island of Sicily. Specifically, the vines are grown near Marsala, where the Grillo grapes receive abundant sunshine and a fresh sea breeze. The conditions are therefore ideal for producing a top-class Grillo wine. Canapi doesn't harvest the grapes until early September morning to ensure plenty of freshness in the wine. We can safely say it's a true gem of the island.

The smell and taste of the Canapi Grillo

What a popular wine it is, and it's no wonder this white wine is often served as a house wine in upscale restaurants. As soon as the bottle is opened, we smell a beautiful, lively aroma of lemon and tropical fruits. With its lovely light yellow color, it looks stunning in the glass. Swirl this Grillo well, and we encounter powerful aromas of tropical fruit, lime peel, green apple, and some fresh green herbs like mint. The finish lives up to its promise, a fresh and slightly minerally finish with a rich aftertaste.
