This red wine is a tribute to the fifth generation of Silva winemakers currently at the helm of this beautiful family business. Each generation is allowed to blend their favorite wine from the finest and best grapes. This red wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, Syrah, and Petit Verdot. These grapes grow on some of the oldest vines in the Colchagua wine region, specifically at the foot of the Andes. The climate here is ideal, as the grapes receive ample sunshine and are cooled by the Andean breeze.

The best red from Casa Silva

The grapes come from pre-selected premium vineyards at Cas Silva's winery. The best wine from each vineyard is selected for this special blend. This also means that the blend can change from year to year, as results can vary significantly from grape to grape and vineyard to vineyard. Four grape varieties are included in the fixed blend of this wine: Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, and Petit Verdor from Los Lingues, located at the foot of the Andes, and Syrah from Lolol, where a particularly cool climate prevails thanks to its proximity to the ocean. Here, the grapes reach perfect ripeness, resulting in a red wine with power and beautiful tannins.

12 months of wood aging for Casa Silva 5Th Quinta Rood

The grapes are given ample time to ripen perfectly and are therefore harvested late. Harvesting is carried out entirely by hand to ensure only the finest grapes are used. The grapes undergo a long, cold maceration process lasting a week, giving the wine abundant color and fruit. Finally, the wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels. The result is impressive. On the nose, this 5th Generation Quinta has hints of black fruit, a touch of pepper, abundant spices, and, of course, vanilla. The ripe and powerful palate reveals notes of blackberry, black cherry, cedar, vanilla, tobacco, and a hint of coffee.
