The best of the Champagne region
The Baron family has owned a vineyard in Charly-sur-Marne, in the western part of the Champagne region, since the 17th century. Dolores Fuenté is the daughter of Spanish immigrants. Gabriel Baron and Dolores Fuenté met in a local dance hall and married in 1961. As a symbol of their union, Gabriel Baron and Dolores Fuenté founded the Baron Fuenté estate in 1967. The first bottles of wine were produced and sold from the house at that time. The Champagne estate subsequently expanded annually. Today, the Champagne region boasts 38 hectares of vineyards, and the Baron family owns the Baron Fuenté brand. The vineyards are located in the commune of Charly-sur-Marne and are situated on the region's best plots, nestled on the slopes overlooking the Marne River. The vineyards are planted with traditional grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay. The very chalky soil is crucial for the grapes in the Champagne region.
A Champagne with a rich, fresh taste
This Blanc de Blancs also matures for at least three and a half years in Baron Fuente's cellars, allowing it to develop into a top-notch champagne, especially at this price point. On the nose, this Blanc de Blancs offers hints of minerals, citrus fruit, green apples, and a hint of acacia flowers. On the palate, we discovered a very soft mousse (bubbles) and a rich, fresh flavor with nuances of minerals, lemongrass, green apples, and a touch of white flowers. This Champagne pairs wonderfully with oysters and shellfish!
