Château Corbin Saint-Émilion AC GCC 2014 – Classic finesse from Bordeaux
Château Corbin 2014 is a classic Grand Cru Classé from Saint-Émilion, made from 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. This wine is full-bodied, round, and intense, with beautiful balance and a long, elegant finish. A wine that speaks to its heritage and history with refinement.
Vineyards and region: Saint-Émilion, Rive Droite
Château Corbin is located on Bordeaux's Right Bank, within the Saint-Émilion AC appellation. The estate is one of the oldest in the region. The château's foundations date back to the 15th century, and according to tradition, it was once a fortress of the Black Prince. Since 1999, Anabelle Cruse-Bardinet, the fourth generation of the family and a graduate vinologist in Bordeaux, has been at the helm.
Vinification and grape varieties: Merlot & Cabernet Franc
The wine is made from Merlot and Cabernet Franc, sourced from vines averaging 30 years old. The soil is partly sandy on a subsoil of iron-rich clay, and partly heavy clay. This gives the wine both subtlety and power.
The grapes are harvested by hand, plot by plot, and undergo multiple selection rounds. After destemming, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled concrete tanks. The wine then matures for 16 to 17 months in carefully selected French oak barrels.
Tasting notes: red fruit, blackberries and silky tannins
The wine is intense in style, with notes of red and black fruit, soft spices, and well-integrated oak. On the palate, it is full and round, with beautiful tannins , freshness, and a long, elegant finish.
Serving suggestions: classic and culinary use
Château Corbin 2014 pairs perfectly with red meat, game dishes, rack of lamb, and hard cheeses . Serve at 16–18°C , preferably after decanting for extra openness.
A wine with history and class. Château Corbin 2014 is a magnificent Saint-Émilion for lovers of classic Bordeaux.
