The grapes are harvested at perfect ripeness, and the entire vinification process is meticulously monitored to ensure quality. And you can taste it!

The old Chateau La Nerthe

Château La Nerthe is one of the oldest and largest estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, stretching across 90 hectares around the château. This alone is unique in Châteauneuf. The vineyards originated in the 14th century when viticulture spread throughout the region. The château itself was built in the 18th century, and various owners have been at the helm, responsible for the winery's great success. The terroir comprises 15 different soil types, and the wines are all characterized by elegance and freshness. The grapes are harvested relatively early, resulting in deliciously fresh and fruity wines.

12 months of wood aging for Chateau La Nerthe Chateauneuf du Pape Red

Vinification is carried out entirely according to tradition. The grapes are individually harvested by hand and sorted on the sorting tables in the winery. Because only the best of the best is good enough. Fermentation then follows in barrels for 18 to 21 days, with the caps regularly immersed. Regular tastings are carried out during this period to ensure the quality is maintained. After malolactic fermentation in oak barrels, this Châteauneuf du Pape Rouge is aged for 12 months in oak barrels. This La Nerthe has a beautiful deep red color and aromas of black currant, black tea, and dried flowers. It has a full, fruity flavor with a generous body. It has a pure and intense character. The acidity is nicely balanced, and it finishes with a long, pleasant aftertaste.
