The best of both worlds come together in this glass of Valreas Rouge. On the one hand, it's a drinkable Côtes du Rhône wine, and on the other, it offers the necessary complexity. Thanks to its northern location in the Rhône region, the Syrah grape was quickly chosen. These are widely planted here and provide the necessary freshness and drinkability. And combined with a slightly softer yet also spicy Grenache, this proves to be a superb choice. Enjoy a glass of wine where everything comes together.
Clos Bellane wines of high quality
Passionate winemaker Stéphane Vedeau is at the helm of the Clos Bellane estate. This high-altitude winery produces top-quality wines. With a total of 48 hectares, they cultivate various grape varieties for high-quality red and white wines. Clos Bellane is located at an altitude of 410 meters in the town of Valréas, in the southern Rhône. The region boasts a cool climate, with temperatures remaining virtually constant year-round. This makes it a favorable region for grape cultivation. The soil structure consists primarily of limestone, allowing the grapes to develop a unique character. This results in fresh wines with just the right amount of complexity.
The 30-year-old vines are planted on the steep vineyards. The grapes are grown entirely organically and harvested by hand at peak ripeness. In the winery, the grapes are destemmed and fermented with indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged in wooden and concrete vats. After the two grape varieties are vinified separately, they are blended, creating the best of both worlds.
The harmonious Clos Bellane Valreas Rouge
The color is a radiant purple, which immediately reveals the grapes' ripeness. The aroma is distinctly mint, blackcurrant, pepper, and a hint of undergrowth and olives. The palate is fresh with velvety tannins. This Rouge wine has a pleasant structure, with the Grenache and Syrah grapes harmonizing perfectly. The finish is delightfully spicy and fruity.
