Condesa de Leganza Tempranillo

This is a top-quality wine from northern La Mancha, specifically near Quintanar de la Orden. This part of La Mancha was known for producing excellent wines. Because of this, Grand Bodegas Faustino was very attentive and purchased the finest vineyards from the Countess of Leganza in 1999. The Tempranillo vineyards had a long history of production and produced the finest bunches in the area. Nevertheless, the winemaker at Condesa de Leganza decided to uproot and replant part of the vineyard. This ensured the future of Condesa de Leganza, and the blend of old and new vines proved successful. The wines are flavorful, ripe, round, and very affordable. In fact, if you ask us, more than affordable.

Wood aging for the Tempranillo

The success of this red wine proved so great that several years later, more vineyards were purchased. The total now stands at 1,100 hectares of vineyards, a large portion of which are filled with red Tempranillo. The grape thrives thanks in part to the wonderful climate, but also to the mature soil in which the vines are planted, which is packed with flavors. After a long and balanced growing process, the Tempranillo is harvested at night. This prevents damage to the bunches and oxidation during transport to Condesa de Leganza. Upon arrival, the Tempranillo is pressed and aged for at least four months in American oak barrels.

The aroma and taste of the red Condesa de Leganza wine

It's a celebration, and at this price, it's unbelievable. As soon as we open the bottle of Condesa de Leganza red wine, we can already smell the Tempranillo. It offers aromas of fresh red fruit, light spices, and a touch of cocoa. In the glass, this red wine transforms into a garnet red with purple highlights. It bursts out of the glass in terms of aromas, as we noted nuances of spice and ripeness, along with hints of vanilla and fresh plums. It has a robust palate with integrated oak notes and flavors of ripe fruit, velvety tannins, and a powerful, long finish.
