The grapes grow on very old vines, the thick trunks having deep roots, allowing them to draw abundant nutrients from the rich soil structure. The subsoil in which the vines grow is rich in lime and gravel, ensuring excellent drainage. The grapes enjoy ample sunshine as well as the cool breeze from the ocean. The growing season is long, and all the bunches for this Corte Ottone Brindisi are harvested by hand. Each bunch is inspected, as the purity of this red wine is paramount. After pressing at Corte Ottone, this red wine is aged in oak for a full twelve months. During this time, it develops a rich array of flavors and aromas while retaining its smoothness. Opening the bottle immediately unleashes the most beautiful aromas: abundant black fruit and a touch of vanilla. In the glass, this red wine erupts in a light purple with a deep red hue. Nosing the glass, we smell a diverse range of aromas, initially noting blackberries and cherries, complemented by cassis, jam, dark chocolate, and a touch of toffee. The aroma is so alluring, it's truly unique. On the palate, this red wine pampers our palate with silky-smooth flavors of black fruit, light spices, and vanilla. Later, as we let it roll over the tongue, we also detect cherry jam, oak, and a touch of licorice.
