The showpiece of winemaker Jean Bousquet. And we can tell you, it's a top-notch wine! Originally from France, Jean Bousquet has a special fondness for the Chardonnay grape. It was he who planted the finest vineyard in the heart of Mendoza's Valle del Uco in the late 1990s. The soil here was uniquely composed, with plenty of black sand, limestone, and gravel. The excellent drainage allows the now-old vines to absorb moisture very easily. This is essential due to the warm summers that prevail in this wine region. The Chardonnay grape is thriving in this region and is now producing a very strong harvest.

Completely hand-harvested for this Gran Chardonnay

The fully organically grown Chardonnay grapes are harvested very late to allow them to develop even more depth and release powerful aromas and flavors. Harvesting is carried out entirely by hand, and each Chardonnay bunch is visually inspected. Only the finest bunches are used for this premium wine. The bunches are transported to Domaine Bousquet in small crates, where they are gently pressed. This gentle pressing releases exceptionally pure and exquisite juice. After vinification, the wine is aged in oak for over ten months, shaping this wine. French oak barrels are used, some new and some unused. This gives the Domaine Bousquet Gran Chardonnay its "Grande" flavor.

The aroma and taste of the Bousquet Gran Chardonnay

The color is best described as straw yellow with a hint of lime. The aroma has a particularly good aromatic intensity of tropical fruits, pear, coconut, and vanilla. On the palate, this Bousquet Chardonnay Grande Reserve offers hints of green apple and pear with subtle notes of spice and jasmine. The silky smooth palate has sufficient thickness and a refreshing acidity. The oak is beautifully integrated with a hint of caramel on the finish. The finish is full, intense, and rich in flavors. A glass of wine where every sip creates a new journey through the Mendoza region.
