Description
The story of Domaine de Joy is almost fairytale-like. The saga begins at the beginning of the last century. The family, originally from Switzerland, was traveling. Arriving in the Armagnac region, south of Bordeaux, they fell in love with the area. Under the leadership of Paul Gessner, the family moved, and the estate began growing grapes for Armagnac distillate. The fourth generation has since come on board, and they now primarily plant grapes for wine. Yet, they maintain a respect for their history and still reserve a small plot for Armagnac production.
In total, the Gessner family owns a whopping 170 hectares in the Cotes de Gascogne. Under the watchful eye of the fourth generation, Vanessa and Kevin Gessner, it is primarily white grape varieties that grow in the rolling landscape of the Cotes de Gascogne. Although the region has become renowned for its white wines, Domaine de Joy has ventured into producing red wines as well, including this Domaine de Joy Enjoy Cotes de Gascogne Rouge. The grape varieties used are also remarkable: with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah, you'd almost think we're dealing with a red wine from Bordeaux further north.
The aroma and taste of Domaine de Joy Enjoy Cotes de Gascogne Rouge
Despite the robustness of the Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, the wine remains juicy, fruity, and friendly. We can largely thank the Merlot for this, which makes its accessibility felt in the wine. Thanks to the Atlantic breeze, this Domaine de Joy Enjoy Cotes de Gascogne Rouge is truly made for its freshness. This results in plenty of juicy forest fruits such as berries, blackberries, and raspberries. The addition of Syrah also gives Domaine de Joy Enjoy Cotes de Gascogne Rouge a bit of a kick, ensuring it never becomes dull.Product details
