The Colombard, Sauvignon Blanc, and Gros Manseng grape varieties thrive exceptionally well on the ideal, characteristic shell-limestone soils of Armagnac. The Prataviera family's controlled, near-natural viticulture strives to improve quality throughout the entire growing season. Harvesting is carried out entirely by hand to select optimally healthy grapes and ensure fresh, smooth aromas.

The family business Domaine de Menard

The history of Domaine de Ménard began in 1920 with Francois Morel, a Swiss wine merchant, who settled in Gascony to devote himself to winemaking. Now in the third generation of the family, Domaine de Ménard encompasses 120 hectares of vineyards. The winery is located near the Via Podensis, part of the Camino de Santiago, in the gently rolling hills of Gascony. Depending on the growing area, 90 percent of the white wines are made from the typical grape varieties Colombard, Ugni Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, and Gros Manseng. The soils (limestone, clay, and sand) in this part of Gascony are ideal for producing fresh white wines. During the vegetative phase, significant efforts are made to enhance quality. The grapes are selectively harvested at their optimal ripeness. The primary goal is the richness of the berries' aromas, which is only guaranteed when they are optimally healthy. The friendly owner and oenologist Elisabeth Prataviera is responsible for the entire vinification process.

This dry, delicious white wine from the French vineyard Domaine de Menard is fresh and fruity, offering a refreshing and fruity character with lovely hints of grapefruit and lime. To create Domaine de Menard Cuvée Marine, the vineyard uses a delicious blend of Colombard, Sauvignon Blanc, and Gros Menseng grapes, resulting in a crisp, tart wine with a beautiful bouquet and a refreshing finish. Dry, fresh, and fruity, it boasts aromas of gooseberries, green apples, and citrus fruits. The palate is elegant and harmonious, with recurring notes of citrus and apples, and a long, fresh, and minerally finish. Perfect with seafood, a fresh salad, or as an aperitif.
