Donnafugata Lighea Zibibbo is a gem among Sicilian wines, ready to enchant both seasoned wine lovers and curious explorers. Made from 100% Zibibbo grapes, also known as Muscat of Alexandria, this white wine showcases the extraordinary richness of Sicily.
The artworks of Donnafugata
Donnafugata's history is as captivating as its wines. The name, which means "woman on the run," honors Queen Maria Carolina, who fled Napoleon's troops to Sicily in the early 19th century. This thrilling story inspires the Donnafugata logo, a woman with flowing hair, which also represents the winery's artistic soul. Each Donnafugata label, created by renowned artists, tells a unique story, making each bottle a work of art in itself.
Only the finest Zibibbo grapes are used to produce Donnafugata Lighea Zibibbo Sicilia. After careful harvesting, the grapes are quickly transported to the winery, where they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks under strictly controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is then aged for several months on its fine lees, contributing to the complexity and harmony of the final wine.
