Unique terroir for Donnafugata Lumera Rose
Donnafugata Lumera Rosé originates from vineyards with unique characteristics. The soils are composed of clay and loam, and contain a rich mix of nutrients such as potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, manganese, and zinc. These nutrient-rich soils provide the perfect breeding ground for grape growth. The vineyards are situated in a southwesterly position, allowing the grapes to optimally benefit from the sun and the surrounding natural environment.
The Nero d'Avola and Syrah grapes for the Donnafugata Lumera Rosé are harvested and selected separately. A cold maceration process of 12-24 hours begins in the press at a temperature of 10 degrees Celsius. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks under strict temperature control. After fermentation, the wine is aged in tanks for another two months to develop and harmonize its flavors. Finally, the wine rests in the bottle for another two months before being released, allowing it to enhance its complexity and character before being enjoyed by wine lovers worldwide.
