A very light rosé, this Austrian Durnberg is made from the Zweigelt grape. During pressing, the skins are fermented for just fifteen minutes, giving it its soft pink color. This specialty, made from the juice of rich Zweigelt grapes, is truly impressive. And we can assure you, one glass is not enough!
The winegrowing of Durnberg
Dürnberg, in the picturesque village of Falkenstein, is managed by winemaker Christoph Körner along with his friends and business partners Matthias Marchesani and Georg Klein. "The three from Dürnberg" are true wine enthusiasts and therefore constantly strive to create wines with strong character that delicately combine the traditional and the modern. The mixture of limestone and loam forms the typical soil—the terroir—of the region. Elegance, complexity on the palate, and cool minerality are rooted here. Regardless of the measures taken in the vineyards, the sustainable use of natural resources is paramount to Dürnberg's concern. As every detail of the vineyards is known, the team has established its own rules for eco-management. Only resources permitted for "controlled integrated production" are used. Because of this sustainable management, the Dürnberg team is proud of their healthy, old vineyards with vines up to 60 years old!
What does Durnberg Blanc de Noirs Rosé taste like?
The goal is a distinctive white wine made from the red Zweigelt grape. Durnberg ensures that the must does not come into contact with the skins. When the grapes are stripped and pressed, the must is formed, which drains away naturally before pressing, thus removing minimal color from the skins. Cool fermentation and aging on fine yeast in stainless steel underscores the fresh, elegant character: a clear, radiant rosé. On the nose, this Rosé has aromas of blossom, light red fruit, and hints of rose. The taste is heavenly, with beautiful fresh notes and a light dose of red fruit. The finish is truly wine, wonderfully ripe and long. A typical, very light rosé.
