This beautiful white Sauvignon Blanc from the El Aritza series is a true thirst quencher. A full-bodied and aromatic wine with a wonderfully fresh flavor and irresistible aromas. El Aritza wines are made by the Cruz de Castillo family, a well-known family for top quality. In 1850, they began producing various wines from different regions. The first vineyards they acquired were in Rioja, where their roots lie. But their winemaking expertise continued, and they later acquired beautiful vineyards in Utiel Requena, among other places. With great respect for Spanish winemaking traditions, Cruz de Castillo creates these prestigious wines with a modern touch.

The name El Aritza was invented by Jr.

The current winemaker has been working the vineyards since childhood. He learned the trade from his father and, with that influence, still creates the finest wines. This El Aritza was created because he was inspired by the "mighty trees" surrounding the vineyards. This inspired him to create the El Aritza wine series, which means "Wood-Aged Wines." The vineyards for this Sauvignon Blanc are located in the Utiel Requena wine region, where the vines are influenced by the sun and the ocean breeze. The fresh ocean breeze provides the harvest with plenty of freshness, allowing it to ripen evenly and slowly. The bunches can absorb everything from the rich soil structure and reach perfection. In the early morning, the bunches are partially harvested by hand to preserve their freshness.

What does El Aritza Sauvignon Blanc taste like?

The freshness is certainly there, a lively white wine with a richness of tropical fruit and lime peel. In the glass, it gleams beautifully light yellow with a green shimmer. It flows through the glass, offering nuances of gooseberry, fresh lemon, grapefruit, and some green herbs like mint. On the palate, the palate first encounters the ripe Sauvignon Blanc grape, offering plenty of freshness and minerality. Swirl the wine around the mouth, and it reveals a wealth of fruit, including citrus, green apple, and gooseberry. The beautifully fresh finish leaves a lingering aftertaste.
