Description
A beautiful blend of Sangiovese, Merlot, and Canaiolo. These grapes complement each other uniquely without overwhelming each other. The vines are deeply rooted in the Tuscan vineyards. It's said that the hot summer evenings and the full moon shining on the vineyards at night are responsible for the aromas and flavors. Experience it for yourself and imagine yourself in beautiful Italy with this Poggio alla Luna.
The vinification process of Fattoria Montellori Poggio alla Luna
Located between Pisa and Florence, we find the Montellori winery. It has been owned by the Nieri family since 1895. Today, the fourth generation, Alessandro Nieri, is at the helm. Bottling of Montellori wine as we know it today began in 1950. Since then, the winery has focused entirely on producing quality wines from the Tuscan wine region. And although it all began with just a few hectares, it has grown in recent years to nearly 60 hectares of vineyards. Nieri maintains the beautiful and passionate traditions his family has cultivated over the years to produce high-quality wines. He combines this with the innovative changes he is making at the winery. The vines are planted on calcareous loam soil at an altitude of over 300 meters above sea level. The grapes here enjoy an excellent climate with warm summers and mild winters. When the grapes reach peak ripeness, they are carefully harvested by hand. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature for approximately 20 days. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is aged in steel tanks for 6 to 8 months. This process gives the Poggio alla Luna a fruity flavor and delightful aromas.Imagine yourself in Italy with Poggio alla Luna
With a deep purple color, the Poggio alla Luna from Fattoria Montellori appears in the glass. Upon pouring, its powerful aromas are immediately released. Red fruit, violets, and cherries mingle to create a warm, inviting aroma. On the palate, it is an extremely full-bodied wine. An elegant character with fruity notes. This red wine pairs perfectly with classic Italian dishes.Product details
