This pure, pure Gruner Veltliner Kamptal from the Steininger winery is renowned throughout Austria. This family-run winery strives to obtain only the finest juice and always showcases the purest grape variety. This means the Steininger winemaker has a lot of work to do in the vineyards. Extensive pruning and careful attention ensure beautiful Gruner Veltliner bunches.

The Steininger family business

When Weingut Karl Steininger was founded in 1938, it was still a mixed farm with only a few vineyards. When Karl Steininger and his wife Brigitta took over the winery from Karl's parents, they decided to dedicate themselves entirely to winemaking. Steininger Grüner Veltliner Kamptal is a remarkable and highly distinctive quality wine from Austria's top wine region, Kamptal. Since January 1, 2009, all quality wines from Kamptal have been marketed under the DAC Kamptal regional classification. Steininger is located in Langenlois, Austria's largest wine town thanks to its extensive vineyards. It is known as one of Austria's best wineries, guaranteed to deliver perfect wines. In the vineyards, the careful cultivation of Austria's national Grüner Veltliner grape is elevated to an art form. This is the foundation for creating truly magnificent wines that have earned Austria its reputation as a renowned wine producer. Steininger Grüner Veltliner Kamptal is vinified using modern methods.

A business card from Austria

In the morning, the grapes are harvested by hand and transported like princes in small wooden crates. This prevents damage to the bunches, allowing Steininger to produce a pure wine. The aroma reveals pure notes of green apple, lime peel, white pepper, and a hint of minerality. The palate is refreshing, with a lovely minerality, abundant stone fruit, and a touch of green herbs. Delicious with a spring salad, asparagus, and chicken.
