Heraclio Alfaro Finca Estarijo Rioja

The latest wine from the Heraclio Alfaro winery. It comes from a beautiful estate just a few kilometers from Alfaro. Here, near the Ebro River, Graciano grapes are planted. This grape variety has been given the primary role in this blend, which is complemented by Garnacha and Tempranillo. These grapes thrive in fertile soils.

Flying start for Heraclio Alfaro

The Heraclio Alfaro winery is located in the southeastern part of the Rioja region. Its name comes from a pioneer in Spanish aviation. The estate where the vineyards are now located was once an airfield opened by Heraclio Alfaro. Today, the 110-hectare estate is home to vines, 40 of which are planted with vines. Tempranillo is primarily grown here, supplemented with Graciano, Mazuelo, and Garnacha. They employ modern techniques and experiment extensively, allowing them to continually innovate. The grapes are harvested and selected by hand with great care, ensuring that only the finest grapes are used during the vinification process. After sorting, the grapes are destemmed and transported whole, without crushing, to the fermentation tanks. Fermentation lasts approximately 20 days at a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, with the focus on extracting fruity notes. Once this is complete, the wine is aged for 16 months in French oak barrels and for an additional three years in the bottle.

The result is a cherry-red wine with exuberant aromas. Plenty of ripe red fruit, with spicy notes and a touch of oak thanks to the oak aging. On the palate, it's a fresh wine with fruity notes and a pleasant acidity that balances it beautifully. Soft tannins fill the mouth, making it a versatile wine.
