Description

Hiruzta is a Txakoli wine that combines classicism and modernity. It is made from the Hondarrabi Zuri grape, grown in the winery's own vineyards in Hondarribia and fermented in its state-of-the-art facility. Produced in an exceptional winery equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

The ideal wine-growing conditions for Hiruzta

The winery has its own 17 hectares of vineyards and is located in the vicinity of the winery itself, at the foot of Mount Jaizkibel. It faces the midday sun, protecting it from the wind and humidity of the nearby Cantabrian Sea, and therefore enjoys excellent sunshine. The climate is wet and rainy, so the vines are planted southwest to maximize the potential sunshine and protect them from the wind and humidity of the nearby sea. The double-Guyot-trained vines are planted at a density of 4,000 per hectare. Trellises are used to avoid high humidity, increase airflow, and maximize sunlight exposure throughout the day. The soils are thick and clayey-marl. The grapes are carefully harvested and transported to the winery in small crates. After this, the grapes are sorted and destemmed, followed by rinsing and gentle pressing. After cold stabilization, the juice is fermented at a controlled temperature of 16 to 18 degrees Celsius. The wine then ages for four months in stainless steel tanks on the lees. This gives the wine extra creaminess and the necessary complexity. The wine is clarified and filtered before bottling.

How does the Hiruzta Txakolí taste?

Hiruzta Txakoli is pale yellow in color with greenish reflections. When poured from a height, it reveals the presence of small bubbles typically associated with this type of Txakoli. Intense aromas of pear and apple, citrus, and tropical fruit are immediately released. The wine is balanced and fresh on the palate with well-integrated acidity. It has a pleasant finish with hints of citrus and tropical fruit. It has a long, aromatic finish.
