This Insight red wine is made by Eveline Fraser, former head winemaker at Cloudy Bay. Yes, you can taste it! What class.

The passion for Mother Nature

This red wine comes from a winery known for its pioneering approach to single-vineyard production in New Zealand: Insight Vineyard, located in the Waihopai Valley in Marlborough, where founder and winemaker Fleur McCree creates sustainably sourced wines. They are passionate about Mother Nature. They purchased the land in 2002 before spending the next five years transforming it from an old sheep farm into five separate vineyard blocks. Today, the vineyards are 100 percent sustainably farmed. Insight's maritime climate provides ideal conditions for growing their aromatic white grapes; Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Gewürztraminer, along with the elegant Pinot Noir from the property's stony, single-vineyard sites. Pinot Noir has become New Zealand's signature red wine, and this beautiful red wine from Marlborough is a prime example. Passionate growers Fleur McCree and Hemi Duns sent grapes to the region's finest wineries a few years after planting their own vines. When they decided to make their own wine, they approached Eveline Fraser, former head winemaker at Cloudy Bay. Eveline, seeing the pristine vineyards and exceptional fruit, seized the opportunity. True to the Burgundian method, the fermenting wine is steeped three times a day to develop color and flavor, and then aged for eleven months in oak.

The aromas and taste of Insight Pinot Noir

The result is a red wine with aromas of black fruit, herbs, a touch of earth, and a touch of blossom. The taste is sensational, full and complex. Drink it at the right temperature (around 15 degrees Celsius). This brings out the best flavors: black fruit, and, frankly, too many to mention! Excellent!
