The impressive quality of Jaros Roble Ribera del Duero
Bodega del Jaro is a renowned winery located in the picturesque village of Pesquera del Duero, in the heart of the Ribera del Duero region. Owned by the renowned Osborne family, the winery boasts an estate called Finca El Quiñón, spanning an impressive 108 hectares. Bodega del Jaro's vineyards are situated at an altitude of between 745 and 800 meters, creating a unique microclimate that gives the winery's grapes and wines intense aromatic power. The Viñas del Jaro project began with the ambition to create red wines that would truly express the flavors of the land. After a long search, they found the ideal vineyard in Pesquera del Duero. Since then, Bodega del Jaro has built an impressive reputation for wines of exceptional quality.
Only the very best Tempanillo grapes are selected for this Ribero del Duero wine. The grapes come from the lowest part of the vineyard, where the 20-year-old vines grow in soils of sand, clay, and limestone. After harvesting, the grapes are carefully pressed, and the juice is transferred to stainless steel tanks. Alcoholic fermentation follows to preserve the fruity aromas. The wine then undergoes a maceration process of 17 days. During this process, the grape skins remain in contact with the juice, allowing the color, flavor, and tannin to be extracted. The wine is then aged for at least four months in French and American oak barrels.
