The Jean Luc Colombo winery was founded in 1986 by Jean Luc. He had only one goal: to produce the finest wines in his beloved Côtes du Rhône region. He found a beautiful vineyard in Cornas and settled among it. He was joined by his wife and, in 2010, by his daughter Laure. Laure is already considered a rising star of the Rhône Valley, which is not surprising when your father is Jean Luc Colombo. She learned the trade from her father and gained extensive experience at companies such as Dom Pérignon and Moët & Chandon. Over the years, the Colombo family has invested heavily in the family estate. New vineyards have been added, and the success has continued. We are proud to present the wines of Jean Luc Colombo.
The composition for this red Les Abeilles Côtes du Rhône
For this red wine, we travel to the northern tip of the Côtes du Rhône region. There, Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre grapes grow on very old vines, each accounting for a third of this red wine. The bunches are grown with the utmost respect for nature, which is what Jean-Luc Colombo is known for. A pure wine guided by nature. The bunches grow in a wonderful climate with plenty of warmth and coolness. This allows the harvest to ripen slowly and very evenly, resulting in a powerful and full harvest.
Velvety soft this Jean Luc Colombo Les Abeilles
The label features a swarm of bees, an important insect in winemaking, according to Jean-Luc Colombo. After all, without bees, there is no wine, which is why he depicted them on this red wine. The Jean-Luc Colombo Les Abeilles Côtes du Rhône is known for its versatility and smoothness, and we notice this immediately upon pouring this red wine. It boasts a beautiful light red color with a subtle purple sheen. Its aroma is rich and offers impressions of red fruit, licorice, and spices. The palate is soft, with abundant red and black fruit. On the cheeks, some herbs and a swarm of berries complete the whole experience. A soft and refined finish completes the whole.
