This magnificent winery belongs to the Conesa family, who have been producing exquisite wines in the Tomelloso wine region for years. It's a unique part of Spain, as the Pago Designation of Origin (DO Pago) is the most exclusive and difficult to obtain in Spain. Quality control is incredibly strict, making this red La Doncella de las Vinas an exclusive wine that guarantees purity and power.

The very high vineyard of La Doncella de las Vinas

This red wine, La Doncella de las Vinas, is made from Tempranillo and Syrah grapes grown in a very high vineyard. We ascend a remarkable 1100 meters, creating a cool microclimate in the vineyards. The old, thick trunks have established themselves and have very deep roots. These roots provide the clusters with the right nutrients and contribute to the complexity of this red wine. The perfect, cool climate allows for very slow ripening of the clusters, resulting in an exceptionally powerful juice.

Wood bearing for the La Doncella de las Vinas Tempranillo

Once all the bunches have been harvested by hand, the juice is extracted through a gentle pressing. The pure, black juice already exudes an unprecedentedly soft aroma. In the cellar of La Doncella de las Vinas, the oak barrels are already ready, where this red wine matures for an impressive three months. A short but intense period, as the wine develops a wealth of flavor during this time. On the nose, this La Doncella de las Vinas has hints of black fruit, a touch of black pepper, vanilla, and oak. The palate is powerful yet smooth and easy to drink, with plenty of black fruit such as blackberries, currants, and cherries. There are also nuances of spice, blackcurrant, and pepper. A top-notch glass!
