Most wine connoisseurs are familiar with the large and renowned Santa Carolina winery in Chile. It is known for its drinkable wines at a fantastic price point. The Las Condes winery is also part of the family, which explains its wines' immense popularity in almost every country. The winery itself was founded in 1875 by Luis Pereyra Cotapos, in collaboration with French winemaker Germain Bachelet. Santa Carolina boasts over 140 years of winemaking history and is now one of the market leaders in Chile. Over the years, the winery has invested heavily in new vineyards filled with Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as a brand-new winery with all the latest winemaking techniques, while still maintaining Chilean winemaking traditions.

The Cabernet Sauvignon harvest in Central Valley

The vineyards for this red wine are located in the renowned Central Valley. The area is characterized by its perfect sun exposure, but also by the abundant cooling provided by the peaks of the Andes Mountains. This creates a perfect balance between heat and coolness, ensuring even ripening of the grapes. Significant investment is made in the Las Condes vineyards, as the harvest is outstanding every year. After a long aging process, it is brought in at night to protect the grapes during transport to Las Condes. Upon arrival, all the Cabernet Sauvignon is laid out on sorting tables to select only the finest grapes for this red wine. It's no wonder, then, that this wine is exceptionally pure and powerful.

What does Las Condes Cabernet Sauvignon taste like?

A full-bodied and creamy red wine with a dark red color in the glass. It's a true crowd-pleaser, both full-bodied and very smooth in aroma and flavor. As this red wine settles into the glass, we smell notes of ripe cherries, raspberries, and a touch of fresh herbs. The aroma is very pleasant, but it doesn't stop there; after the first sip, we're hooked. On the palate, it reveals nuances of fresh black fruit, light spices, a touch of chocolate, and a hint of plum. The finish is rich yet soft, like a warm duvet.
