Las Condes Sauvignon Blanc

Our first thought was, how can a white wine be this expensive? But after some research, we discovered that Las Condes wines are made by Santa Carolina. Santa Carolina is no stranger to Chilean viticulture, as the winery has become world-renowned. The winery was founded in 1875 by Luis Pereyra Cotapos, in collaboration with French winemaker Germain Bachelet. This proved to be a resounding success, as both men brought their knowledge and experience to the Chilean winery. After more than 140 years of successful winemaking, the winery even received the highest wine award, "New World Winery of the Year," in 2015. Today, they continue to produce exquisite wines with respect for nature, all at a premium price.

For this crisp white wine, the Sauvignon Blanc grapes are grown in the Central Valley wine region. This valley boasts a superb climate with warm summers, cool nights, and cold winters. This allows the vines to grow and develop perfectly, a characteristic that is clearly evident in the pure style of this Las Condes Sauvignon Blanc. The wind from the Andes mountains adds a touch of freshness to the bunches, preserving their freshness. Once the grapes are ripe, they are harvested at night to protect the bunches for their journey to Las Condes. This protects the Sauvignon Blanc from oxidation and bruising.

Once the grapes arrive, they are placed on sorting tables and thoroughly inspected. Only the finest bunches are used in this white wine, which contributes to its excellent quality. Upon opening this bottle, we immediately smell a fresh aroma of mint, melon, pineapple, lime, and grapefruit. In the glass, it emanates a lemon yellow color with a green hue, characteristic of a top Sauvignon Blanc. The palate is pampered by abundant freshness of green apple, gooseberry, grapefruit, and lime. A refreshing finish with notes of fresh mint leaves and a touch of green apple lingers on the palate and finish.
