What a delicious wine this Chardonnay from Roeno is! The Chardonnay grapes come from the Valdige wine region, where they are lovingly cultivated and harvested by hand.
The fifty year old winery
"Roeno" is an abbreviation of Ro, the founder Rolando Fugatti, and the Greek word "enos." Rolando Fugatti and his wife Giuliana founded the estate fifty years ago. With great dedication, they invested their passion for the terroir in the Valdadige Trentino Veronese region. Today, their children Roberta, Cristina, and Giuseppe manage the estate.
Following family tradition, they have developed their wine production while maintaining a strong sense of hospitality through their restaurant and B&B. The estate, which comprises the winery, a restaurant, and a B&B, is located on the border between the provinces of Verona and Trentino, at the foot of Monte Baldo in the town of Belluno Veronese, in the heart of the area known as "Terradeiforti," or "Land of Fortresses." This name refers not only to the numerous fortifications built in the region but also to the fighting spirit of its inhabitants.
The vineyards stretch across the Adige Valley, reaching Trentino Alto Adige to the north and the Bardolino region to the south. This vast area allows for the identification of the most suitable soil for each varietal. Therefore, the Roeno Estate produces wines of great elegance and personality.
A tropical and fruity Chardonnay from Roeno
After harvest, the grapes are destemmed and gently crushed. This is followed by a short maceration on the skins, during which fermentation takes place at a low temperature. Finally, the wine is aged on lees in stainless steel tanks for another six months, softening the wine and adding complexity. The aroma is fresh and fruity, with notes of banana, peach, and tropical fruit. The palate is rich, complex, and refreshing with a lovely acidity. Its elegance and freshness make it a perfect accompaniment to a wide variety of dishes. Ideal with seafood and as an aperitif.
