Please note that there are six different versions/labels of this rosé. You will receive the wine that is currently available. The story of Le Marcel Gris de Gris Rosé is incredibly interesting and refers to the French translation of 'Marcel', which means a sleeveless shirt. With this in mind, Paul Mas creates this rosé, rich in summery notes and perfect for enjoying in a 'Marcel'. Paul Mas commissioned six different shirts for this rosé, including a Californian Sunset model, a tie-dye, and a beautiful Marinière stripe version. All have a summery appearance, just like the rosé itself.
The old vineyard of Le Marcel Gris de Gris Rosé Rural Couture
For this rosé, only Grenache grapes are used, grown in the perfect climate of the Languedoc/Roussillon region. This is where the twenty-year-old vines for this rosé are located. The rich soil structure, rich in limestone, gravel, and clay, provides the clusters with the necessary strength and nourishment. This climate, with its abundant sunshine and cool breezes, allows for harvesting quite early in the season. The winemaker of Le Marcel Rosé harvests the grapes early in the morning to prevent damage to the clusters. After a gentle pressing and three months of aging in the cellars of Paul Mas, it is ready to accompany summer evenings.
The aroma and taste of Le Marcel Rosé
Isn't it a feast for the eyes? The bottle alone is beautiful. But it doesn't stop there. Upon opening the bottle, we immediately smell a powerful, fruity aroma of red fruit. In the glass, it emanates a beautiful bright red color, a touch of salmon pink with some orange glints. It flows from the glass, giving our nose impressions of strawberry, raspberry, and citrus. The beautiful, fresh taste completes the whole experience. Plenty of red fruit with a good dose of citrus notes. The finish reveals hints of peach and a small bunch of strawberries. Every summer evening becomes a celebration with this Le Marcel Gris de Gris Rosé.
