The most apt words to describe this red wine are soft, flavorful, and ripe. We therefore find it no wonder that this red Merlot from Les Garrigues is a popular house wine at many top restaurants. A versatile wine with just the right softness. The winery and vineyards are located in the French appellation Vin de Pays D'Oc, where the Merlot grapes enjoy a superb climate. Because the vineyard is situated slightly higher, the grapes receive plenty of sunshine but also plenty of coolness. This coolness is important for the Merlot grape, as otherwise, ripening would occur too quickly. The fresh breeze that always blows through the vineyard naturally cools the bunches during hot summer days. The falling nighttime temperatures also leave their mark on this red Merlot from Les Garrigues, and naturally in a positive way.

Storage for the Les Garrigues Merlot

When the harvest is ripe, the bunches are brought in early in the morning under the supervision of the winemaker at Les Garrigues. This is done to protect the Merlot grapes during transport and also prevents oxidation due to the warm afternoon temperatures. Once arrived at Les Garrigues, the Merlot bunches are thoroughly inspected, and only the finest are used in this red wine. The juice is thus pure and priceless. This is followed by aging in temperature-controlled barrels, making this Merlot fuller and more powerful.
