Syrah is very popular internationally and thrives in the Languedoc region. This Les Jamelles variety is a rich, powerful red wine with beautiful aromas. The grapes for Les Jamelles Syrah come from four distinct terroirs: the slopes of the Orb Valley, which provide complexity and richness, while the Montagne d'Alaric terroir adds a rich roundness. The clayey soil also adds a touch of spice. Clearly, each terroir contributes its own unique character to this rich and full-bodied wine.

Typical French vinification for Les Jamelles Syrah

Founded in 1991, the Jamelles winery has established itself both nationally and internationally with its unique, handcrafted wines. The quality is exceptionally high, thanks in part to the unparalleled craftsmanship of its enthusiastic winemakers. The name Les Jamelles has become a trademark for high-quality wines from unique terroirs. Winemakers Catherine and Laurent Delaunay personally guarantee the high technical standards of these wines. They are constantly on the road in the Languedoc, visiting local partner winemakers, selecting vineyards, and, supported by a team of oenologists, ensuring the wines are developed. The Syrah grapes are carefully harvested and vinified according to a traditional Southern French method known as La Cocotte. This means the skins are fully submerged at the end of alcoholic fermentation. This allows for slow, gentle extraction of the tannins and color, giving the final wine velvety tannins. Some of the cuvée is aged in oak.

The fruity aromas of Les Jamelles Syrah

The Les Jamelles Syrah presents itself with a deep, dark color. The aromas it releases are reminiscent of wild fruits like raspberry, currant, and blackcurrant. Floral notes of vanilla and cinnamon are also added. The wine has a rich and full flavor, with a hint of minerality and a long, silky finish.
