A wine with a unique flavor: this Leth Fels Gruner Veltliner Wagram. The Leth family selects the finest Gruner Veltliner grapes for this quality wine. This wine captures Wagram's rich history and transports you to the beautiful Austrian mountains.

Sustainable wine growing in Leth

The Leth family business was founded in 1960 by Franz Leth in Fels am Wagram, Austria. The third generation is now at the helm. The winery focuses strongly on traditional Austrian grape varieties, such as Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, but also produces other wines such as Zweigelt Rosé and Pinot Noir. They employ sustainable viticultural practices and strive to minimize the use of chemicals. For example, the winery has been herbicide-free for 25 years and operates entirely organically. The terroir of loess and sandy-gravel soil on terraces between 200 and 300 meters altitude gives the wine its unique flavor profile. The grapes are carefully selected and are free of botrytis. After harvest, the grapes are gently crushed in the winery and subjected to skin contact for a few hours. After pressing, the clear juice is transferred to stainless steel tanks for fermentation. This process involves the use of both natural and cultivated yeasts. Finally, the wine is aged for three to four months to develop a fresh and fruity character.

The aroma and taste of Leth Fels Gruner Veltliner Wagram

The Leth Fels Gruner Veltliner emerges in the glass with a beautiful, bright golden yellow color. The aroma reveals a rich and complex bouquet of apples and pears. These fruity notes are supported by subtle hints of herbs. Floral notes, mint, and pepper also emerge. On the palate, this wine is elegant and refreshing, with balanced acidity that emphasizes the fresh, fruity character of the grapes. This Fels Gruner Veltliner has a refined and lively flavor with a spicy, lingering finish.
