Los Vascos wines combine the Lafite tradition with Chile's unique terroir to create elegant wines. Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite's vision to expand their estate brought them to South America in 1988, becoming the first French winemaking investment in modern Chile. Since then, a comprehensive modernization and investment program has been launched, focused on producing excellent wine using the winemaking expertise of Bordeaux and other regions where Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite is located. The Chardonnay grapes from the Lafite vineyard are complemented by a selection from the Central Valley, known for its excellent Chardonnay production.
The harvest of the Los Vascos Chardonnay
The grapes are harvested before daylight to preserve maximum freshness. Upon arrival at the winery, they are pressed and fermented at a low temperature in stainless steel tanks to preserve their aromatic potential. The Chardonnay is partially aged on its lees, which gives it its unique mouthfeel.
What does the Los Vascos Chardonnay taste like?
This Chardonnay is golden yellow in color with a yellow sheen. Full-bodied and teary in the glass, it offers aromas of banana, papaya, lime, and mango with notes of green tea and a hint of chamomile. The wine is rich on the palate, with great persistence and refreshing acidity. The finish is full, smooth, and creamy. The finish of a truly fine Chardonnay!
