Another magnificent wine from Louis Gentrum. This winery's philosophy has remained unchanged for centuries: use only the finest grapes from the finest vineyards to create the finest wines. The vineyards are also free of novelties, using only traditional grape varieties. This also applies to the grapes used for this Pinot Noir. Thanks to their extensive knowledge and dedication, along with their unwavering philosophy, this German winery continues to surprise us with superb wines.

Modern and traditional winemaking from Guntrum

The Louis Guntrum winery was founded in 1648 in Nierstein, Rheinhessen. The Louis Guntrum cellars are located on the banks of the Rhine between Oppenheimer and Nierstein. The 11th generation, Louis Konstantin Guntrum, the sole owner, now manages the estate. The cellar technology is modern, combined with the best of traditional winemaking and philosophy. This has led to a harmonious relationship and is responsible for the production of some of Germany's finest wines. The estate boasts over 60 hectares of vineyards, including the small Monopole Vineyard, Schutzenhutte near Oppenheimer, and a vineyard in the renowned Niersteiner Olberg vineyards. From very dry to deliciously sweet, Louis Guntrum wines are enjoyed in over 80 countries worldwide. Everything is focused on quality. The entire process, from grape to wine, is meticulously monitored, ensuring that nothing can go wrong.

The vinification of Louis Guntrum Pinot Noir

The grapes come from vineyards on the rolling slopes of Rheinhessen, Germany. The soil consists primarily of loam. The grapes are hand-picked for this red Louis Guntrum, made with Pinot Noir grapes. The first juice, the "vin de goutte" (the juice that flows from the grapes before pressing), is collected for more color and flavor concentration. For this reason, the aging process takes longer than usual, around 14 days. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months in oak. The aromas are cherries, raspberries, and a hint of oak. This fruity wine has notes of strawberries and cherries. Fresh acidity, hints of tobacco, and oak.
