Luccarelli Negroamaro

A long success story—that's the history of Luccarelli from Puglia. After its founding, the family's sole goal was to create wines based on the philosophy of mastering the three most important elements of Puglia's wine tradition: sun, sea, and passion. These are the three key elements that make for fantastic wines. And they've certainly succeeded! Thanks in part to the efforts of Luccarelli Winery, southern Italy has been put on the international wine map, and its wines are now sold worldwide. And we're not surprised, because this full-bodied Negroamaro is also an Italian gem.

What a gem, this full-bodied Negroamaro from the Luccarelli winery. The grapes are grown in the Salento region, a region with abundant sunshine. We immediately taste that in this Luccarelli Negroamaro. Thanks in part to the cool breeze from the Adriatic Sea, this Negroamaro still has plenty of bite! The vineyard is between 15 and 30 years old, resulting in a wide variety in the harvest. After harvest, the entire wine is aged in oak for 4 to 5 months, making it full-bodied and creamy. This oak aging gives the wine the necessary bite—incredible.

The smell and taste of the Luccarelli Negroamaro

The aroma reveals hints of spice, coffee, caramel, and hints of blackcurrant, plum, and white pepper. The taste of this Luccarelli Negroamaro is full-bodied yet very ripe. It has a lovely fruity bouquet of cherry and berry, along with hints of vanilla, wood, and spice. The finish reveals toffee and caramel.
