The vineyards of Luigi Bosca

The wines are named after Luigi Bosca, who emigrated to Argentina in 1890. He settled in the sunny valley of Vistalba in the renowned province of Mendoza. He purchased land there and planted his first vines. Initially on a small scale, he eventually established the winery, named after himself. He later expanded his vineyards, and now the fourth generation is in charge of the magnificent Luigi Bosca winery. The estate now covers 300 hectares and is divided among four vineyards. Three of these, Vistalba, Carrodilla, and La Puntilla, are situated at the foot of the Andes. Thanks to their unique microclimate—abundant sunshine during the day and cool nights—they are ideal for growing grapes such as Malbec, Chardonnay, and Riesling. This Luigi Bosca Chardonnay comes from the Lujan de Cuyo region, located fifteen kilometers south of Mendoza. The vineyards lie at an altitude of almost 1,100 meters on the eastern slopes of the Andes. After the grapes are carefully harvested, they undergo pneumatic pressing. Then, the fermentation process begins, half in French oak barrels and half in stainless steel tanks. This creates the ideal combination of robustness and freshness, a characteristic in which the Luigi Bosca Chardonnay excels.

The result is certainly impressive. With a broad bouquet of apples, a touch of citrus, and of course, vanilla and oak, we can expect a perfect wine. The taste is full-bodied and creamy. Thanks to the oak fermentation, it has a thick structure. There are also hints of peach, apricot, yellow cream, vanilla, and oak. Tropical fruit is also clearly present. In our opinion, Luigi Bosca Chardonnay is a perfectly balanced white wine.
