What a success story this beautiful white wine from Maison Robert Vic is! This white wine is made from Chardonnay grapes grown northwest of Vias, separated from the Mediterranean Sea by the extinct volcano Roque Haute. This location is ideal for a classy Chardonnay with rich aromas and flavors. But that's not the only success story, as Jérôme Vic and his wife Aurélie have a significant influence. Their work is carried out with great dedication, and you can taste that in this Maison Robert Vic Chardonnay.
The complex harvest of Maison Robert Vic
The vineyards of Maison Robert Vic lie in the south of France on the Mediterranean coast. Today, the 250-hectare estate is managed by Jerome Vic and his wife Aurélie. They are the fifth generation at the helm.
The vineyards' diverse soil structures and microclimates create a highly complex harvest. Jérôme has elevated the selection and often blending of the grapes to a true art. The subsoil consists of ash from the now-extinct Roque Haute volcano, alongside basalt, clay, and gravel from the nearby Libron River. In the 1960s and 1970s, grandfather Georges Vic began replanting higher-quality grapes for finer wines, and the harvest is now truly paying off.
A beautiful, rich and full Chardonnay
Only the finest grapes are good enough to ultimately bear the Maison Robert Vic label. After harvest, a modern vinification process takes place at a low temperature. Forty percent of this Chardonnay is aged for four months. This ultimately results in a beautiful, rich, and full-bodied Chardonnay with aromas of tropical fruit, a touch of honey, and a hint of oak. The palate boasts exotic fruits like melon and papaya, mild acidity, and a refined finish. Serving suggestions: with creamy cheeses, fish in cream sauce, veal escalopes, and as an aperitif.
