A truly outstanding glass of wine, showcasing German craftsmanship. This Markus Molitor Pinot Blanc has one star. This star is awarded to Markus Molitor, the winemaker and owner of the winery. In the period leading up to the harvest, he hand-selects the grapes in the vineyard and awards only the finest grapes a classification (one, two, or three stars). With Markus Molitor Einstern Pinot Blanc*, you can be sure you're getting a fine glass of wine.
The wines of Markus Molitor
Markus Molitor is based in the small village of Klosterberg, nestled in the ever-bustling Moselle River. The region is beloved by many tourists thanks to its unique blend of stunning nature, picturesque villages, and authentic German cuisine. However, the Moselle is also known among wine drinkers for its wines. While these wines have long been questionable in quality, the region boasts a high proportion of renowned winemakers. Markus Molitor is one of those pioneers; he is a true magician, especially with Riesling. The location of the vines, in particular, ensures that each wine has its own distinct character.
But Markus Molitor also produces excellent Pinot Blanc, or Weissburgunder as the Germans call it. The man himself personally selects the grapes for Markus Molitor Einstern Pinot Blanc* in early October. A unique feature is that the grapes are spontaneously fermented in large wooden barrels. Afterward, the juice is aged in stainless steel tanks.
