It's not just the beautiful presentation that makes this Masca del Tacco rosé stand out. The taste and aroma are truly magnificent, comparable to a top rosé from France, for example. This Ro'Si is made entirely from the Susumaniello grape, which imparts a warm aroma and rich flavors. Nestled in the heart of Puglia, the beautiful Masca del Tacco vineyards are filled with Susumaniello grapes. The excellent slopes and superb climate ensure this rosé is among our top 10!
The birth of the Masca del Tacco winery
In 2010, Felice Mergè and his father Armando purchased a building in Erchie, a small town in the province of Brindisi, and subsequently renovated it completely. Renamed Masca del Tacco, the building was restored to its original rural splendor, while simultaneously enriched with the latest equipment and innovative production techniques. All aimed at producing the finest wines without losing the traditional character. The winery then expanded its vineyards in the area around Veglie and Torricella. The climate, the warmth of the land, the inflow of the Salentine Peninsula, and the hardworking hands of the farmers result in highly distinctive Masca del Tacco wines.
Special winemaking process for this Susumaniello Rosé
The production of Susumaniello rosé was inspired by the intriguing freshness of the flower, the rose. Strength, love, but also variety and purity. The wine is the result of a two-year project, starting with the rosé's winemaking process and continuing through to the Susumaniello grape juice, obtained using the saignée technique (in this case, twenty-four hours in contact with the skins, followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature). All grapes are picked in the morning to avoid high temperatures. Finally, the wine is aged on its lees in stainless steel.
Susumaniello Rosé has a light pink color, clear and consistent. The aroma offers a wide range of impressions of red fruit, red flowers, fresh jam, and a hint of grapefruit. The taste is very surprising, soft and fresh, with abundant fruit notes including raspberries, strawberries, and berries. Enjoy!
