We are so happy with the Masseria Pietrosa winery, as it has been a staple in our selection for years. The winery was founded in 1962 by a group of very passionate winemakers. These nineteen aspiring winemakers quickly made the winery flourish. They worked closely together, and they sought out more winemakers of the same caliber. Today, the Masseria Pietrosa winery is known for Winemaker Filippo Baccalaro, who is unparalleled in transforming grapes into beautiful, full-bodied wines. This is certainly true of this latest white wine from Masseria Pietrosa.
The old Salento vineyard of Masseria Pietrosa
In the heart of southern Italy's wine region, Salento, lies the vineyards for this white wine. Sauvignon Blanc is chosen alongside Malvasia. These two grape varieties complement each other perfectly, creating a creamy yet refreshing style. But before this happens, the bunches ripen in a perfect climate with abundant sunshine and cooling ocean breezes. This creates the perfect balance between warmth and coolness. The harvest for this white wine is harvested early in the morning. This protects the grapes from oxidation and bruising during transport to Masseria Pietrosa.
This white wine from Masseria Pietrosa is wonderfully fresh.
What a treat, and at this price! Don't tell anyone! This white wine from Masseria Pietrosa comes from the Salento wine region. Here, Malvasia and Sauvignon Blanc grapes are grown in the best conditions. And we can taste it, as it's wonderfully fruity with lovely soft, fresh notes. The vineyard is also situated at an altitude of 100 meters above sea level, giving it plenty of freshness. On the nose, we noted intense aromas of ripe pears, passion fruit, and mandarins for this Masseria Pietrosa Bianco Salento. The taste is wonderfully soft and refined! Deliciously fruity with a soft, ripe finish!
