Producer Santa Tresa
Varietal(s) Fiano

This Fiano is perfectly balanced. We encounter both sweet and acidic notes. Fiano is a forgotten grape that is thankfully becoming increasingly popular. It's comparable to a Viognier, but much drier. It's suitable for any occasion, and at this attractive price!

The ideal terroir of Italy

Miopasso is a project by the producers of Santa Tresa wines. The Miopasso series is a high-quality wine made from indigenous Italian grape varieties. The goal is to bring these traditional styles of wine to the international market, reflecting the true taste of Italy. This is achieved through modern vinification, which allows them to fully express the flavors of each grape variety. It offers a wide selection for every wine lover. Santa Tresa was founded in 1697 and owns 50 hectares of land. Since 2000, it has been owned by Stefano and Marina Girelli and their business partner, Massimo Maggio. The winery is located in Vittoria, in southern Sicily. The grapes have been grown organically for many years, and the estate was officially certified in 2009. The vineyards enjoy a cool, southern climate that offsets the heat of the interior. Thanks to its location near Mount Etna, the soil is exceptionally fertile.

Enjoy the sweet and fresh Fiano

The Fiano grapes are harvested by hand in September and carefully selected. In the winery, the grapes are gently pressed using a pneumatic press and then left in contact with the skins for approximately 12 hours. Fermentation takes place at 14 to 16 degrees Celsius. To preserve the wine's natural acidity, malolactic fermentation is omitted. Finally, the wine rests on its fine lees at a constant temperature of 16 degrees Celsius. As soon as we pour this Fiano, we can savor the delicious aromas of peach, mango, honey, and flowers. Apple also makes an appearance on the palate. The taste is fresh and floral with a hint of honey. This gives a pleasant twist of fine, light acidity to this soft, round wine.
