A Pinot Grigio with character! The grapes come from Sicily, and that alone makes this Miopasso special. The dry climate has been incredibly beneficial for the grape, resulting in a wine with plenty of flavor and a good balance of sweetness and acidity. Highly recommended!
The traditional style of Miopasso wines
Miopasso is a project by the producers of Santa Tresa wines. The Miopasso series is a high-quality wine made from indigenous Italian grape varieties. The goal is to bring these traditional styles of wine to the international market, reflecting the true taste of Italy. This is achieved through modern vinification.
Santa Tresa has been active in the wine industry since 1697. They have 50 hectares of land and are located in southern Sicily. Since 2000, it has been owned by Stefano and Marina Girelli. Grape cultivation has been completely organic for years, which is why the winery decided several years ago to become certified as an organic wine producer. The soil of the vineyard is very fertile due to the proximity of Mount Etna. The soil consists of a layer of red loam, with a thick layer of limestone beneath. This limestone acts as a silt and stores water, ensuring that the vines receive sufficient moisture even in high temperatures.
Manual harvest for Miopasso Pinot Grigio
The Pinot Grigio grapes are harvested by hand, after which a rigorous selection process follows. Because only the very best grapes are good enough. It gleams straw yellow in the glass. And as soon as we open the bottle, we're surprised by an intense bouquet. On the palate, it's medium-bodied and superbly balanced. It's smooth and refreshing. And that's what makes it so special. This Pinot Grigio is surprising and exceptionally versatile. It pairs well with almost any dish because it's so adaptable. But it's also definitely recommended for drinking on its own.
