This Custoza is part of Montresor's new 'Bio' range of organic, characterful, and contemporary wines – a fresh and elegant white wine from an increasingly popular wine region.

Organic viticulture of Montresor

The Montresor family moved from France to Italy at the beginning of the 19th century, settling in the Veneto region near Lake Garda. In 1892, Cantina Giacomo Montresor was founded in Verona and remains family-owned to this day. Giorgio Montresor produces a portfolio of wines that increasingly rival the offerings of the more fashionable names in the region – using modern technology to craft the finest wines from each site across their 100 hectares of vineyards in Valpolicella and Garda. Towards the end of 2019, Montresor received organic certification and launched a new range of organic wines. They bottle their wines in lighter glass bottles to reduce their glass consumption. Solar panels have also been installed in the winery to provide some of the electricity needed for the production process. Montresor is also about to install a water purification system to reclaim and recycle the water used in the winery. The blend, made from Cortese, Friulano, Garganega, and Trebbiano grapes, originates from the hills south of Lake Garda. The grapes are carefully selected and harvested at peak ripeness, with only the finest grapes being considered. In the winery, fermentation takes place at a low, controlled temperature, entirely in stainless steel tanks.

Fruity Custoza with refreshing acidity

The Custoza has a pale yellow color in the glass, and upon pouring, enticing aromas are immediately released. We note pear, melon, and lime complemented by subtle notes of wildflowers. It's a fruity wine on the palate with refreshing acidity, creating a beautiful balance. An elegant wine that pairs beautifully with vitello tonnato.
