A white wine bursting with flavor and freshness, at an almost unbelievable price point. This only proves the sublime quality of the grapes in the South African wine landscape. The grapes thrive in ideal growing conditions. The sun shines abundantly, but the influence of the ocean also plays a significant role. Because the Mountain View Cape White vineyards are relatively close to the coast, a cool breeze blows through the vineyards at night, ensuring the grapes retain plenty of freshness and flavor.

The grapes in Mountain View Cape White

For this Mountain View gem, the winemaker selected three different grape varieties. The primary grape in Mountain View Cape White is Chardonnay, primarily due to its exceptional performance in the Western Cape. Colombard, a massive fruit bomb, and Sauvignon Blanc also play supporting roles, lending ample freshness to Mountain View Cape White. The three grapes are fermented separately. Then comes the winemaker's work. He blends the wines in this way to ensure exceptional quality. It's a precise job, but perfectly executed in Mountain View Cape White.

Impressions of Mountain View Cape White

The key word for this white wine is pleasant. When we compare all the tasting notes of Mountain View Cape White from our vinologists, this is the recurring theme. The freshness of the Sauvignon Blanc, the smoothness of the Chardonnay, and the fruitiness of the Colombard work perfectly together. As soon as you pour this superb wine, a wild aroma rises from the glass. You clearly smell fresh notes of Granny Smith apples and fresh white pear. The taste is crisp, especially thanks to its refreshing character. You'll detect white fruit on the palate, but also a hint of lime in the finish. In our opinion, it's the number one aperitif wine, but Mountain View Cape White also pairs well with light fish dishes or vegetable platters.
